The moment we feel heard is the moment we begin to heal.
Every human being has a story. Our current struggles do not exist in isolation, they are the result of a constellation of factors — the experiences we've had, the narratives we carry, and the beliefs that drive our thoughts and feelings all shape the lens through which we experience the world around us. When we begin to understand how our current perspective is shaped by these factors, we can better identify the steps we need to take in order to get to where we'd ultimately like to be.
I provide a space for you to grow in your self-knowledge, offering insight, guidance, and support as you develop a deeper understanding of who you are. My approach is tailored to your needs and goals for therapy, and begins with us working together to decide where you'd like to begin. I endeavour to help each person I work with to achieve their unique mental health goals. This often includes learning to identify and uphold healthy boundaries, manage stress, cope with difficult emotions, process trauma, and trust in the inner wisdom that lies within all of us.
I believe the moment we feel heard is the moment we begin to heal. Good therapeutic work is only possible when there is a genuine connection between us and when you feel safe being seen in your struggles. While beginning therapy can often be a nerve-racking experience, it is important to remember that without exploring the dark it would be impossible to find our way into the light. I am committed to offering you compassionate support balanced with actionable steps to create change, so that therapeutic growth feels natural, affirming, and like it's happening at your own pace.
Therapeutic Modalities
I approach therapy from a de-pathologizing perspective, where a diagnosis does not define the whole of the person. All of the work I do is attachment-focused and strengths-based, and is customized to the unique needs of each individual. Depending on your goals for therapy, we will collaboratively identify which of the following evidence-based modalities will best target your needs.
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) & Parts Work
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Somatic & Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Narrative & Person Centred Therapy (PCT)
